San Antonio Spurs forward/center Joffrey Lauvergne is 26 years old but already has an idea on which country he’ll live following his retirement from basketball.

Lauvergne told Serbia president of the republic Aleksandar Vukic that he wants to come and live with his family in the country, during a meeting between the two held in Belgrade, per Novosti.

“I’m proud that such important people love Serbia and want to live here,” Vukic said after the meeting and conversation he had with Lauvergne.

Lauvergne’s connection with Serbia can be traced to the player’s stint with Partizan Belgrade, back in 2012-2014. The French big helped Partizan win the back-to-back Serbian League titles of 2013 and 2014, plus the ABA League title of 2013 and was one highly beloved figure among fans of the team.

Actually, Lauvergne’s bond with Partizan grew so strong, that he decided to have the club’s logo tattoed on his arm.

While Lauvergne is expected to become a permanent Serbia resident after he finishes his career, we may see him in Europe much sooner since there’s already a reported possibility of him potentially exploring overseas options the following season.
