Piraeus police are investigating a bizarre case of theft. According to reports, which were confirmed by Olympiakos, €500,000 is missing from the safe which was located in the offices of the club inside the Peace and Friendship Stadium, commonly referred to as “SEF”.
During the weekend and while the offices were closed, strangers allegedly broke into the premises and violated the safe by seizing the above amount. Early police investigations into the area did not reveal traces of burglary or other evidence. Investigations are ongoing, with audiovisual material by security cameras being examined for additional information.
