Alba Berlin’s return to the German League wasn’t a pleasant one.

The Crailsheim Merlins defeated Alba Berlin 91 – 82 in the last game of Round 22 of the German BBL League.

DeWayne Russell paced the offense of the winning by scoring 22 points and dishing out 12 assists. Martin Hermannsson had 22 points for Alba.

Thanks to this win, the Merlins now hold the third place in the standings, at 15-6. Alba fell to the fourth spot and is now 14-5, with two games less.

Bayern Munich was coming off a last-minute loss to Barcelona on the road and recovered by overpowering medi Bayreuth 91 – 75 on the road. The reigning champions climbed to 19-2 and remain the top-spot holders.

Vladimir Lucic (18 points) and Danilo Barthel (15 points) stood out from the winning squad. James Robinson (15 points, eight rebounds) was the top performer for Bayreuth. His team fell to 9-12.
