Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt announced the acquisition of Lithuanian forward/center Gytis Masiulis for the final phase of the German League, on loan from Zalgiris Kaunas.

“I’m very happy to be able to come to Frankfurt. The club has a reputation for working very well with young players and developing them further. We want to tackle one game after the other in the tournament in Munich and hopefully provide a surprise,” Masiulis said per the club’s website.

Masiulis, 22, spent the season with Lithuanian Basketball Champions League club Neptunas Klaipeda, also on loan from Zalgiris. He averaged 11.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 22.9 minutes over 13 games of BCL.

The German League will be completed with a 10-team tournament that will be played in Munich from June 6 to 28. The 10 teams will be divided into two groups and then the top eight teams will compete in the playoffs that will feature two games in each round. The aggregate score winner will advance to the next stage.
