After beating reigning champion Bayern Munich in the opening day of the German easycreditBBL League’s final phase, Ratiopharm Ulm prevailed over EWE Oldenburg 85 – 66 to double its victories and climb to 2-0 in Group A.

It was a balanced effort for Ulm that had Tyler Harvey (15 points), Archie Goodwin (14 points), Nicolas Klepeisz (12 points, six assists) and Derek Willis (10 points, seven rebounds) scoring in double figures. Nathan Boothe (19 points) and Rasid Mahalbasic (17 points, seven rebounds) stood out from Oldenburg that played its first game in the tournament.

Earlier on Monday (5/6), tournament host Bayern Munich captured its first win by routing Crailsheim Merlins 110 – 79. The trio of Mathias Lessort (20 points, nine rebounds), Maodo Lo (19 points) and Vladimir Lucic (14 points) paced the winning side.

The Merlins, that needed a lot more than Sergio Herrera’s 27 points plus five assists to counter the Bavarian team’s offense, fell to 0-2.
