Bayern Munich kicked off the day in German League Final Tournament with a convincing 90-55 win over BC Gottingen.

Danilo Barthel put on an impressive 19-point performance on 8-9 shooting which almost ended up being a problem for the squad as he exited the court due to knee pain. However, the captain reassured everybody after the game: “It’s nothing special. It hurt a little bit at the beginning. But everything is fine.”

Diego Flaccadori added 13 and Thomas Bray 11 points for the victors. On the other side, Marvin Omuvwie was the only double-digit scorer with 13 points.

Later on, EWE Baskets Oldenburg grabbed a narrow 85-83 win against an 8-man HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim squad.

Rasid Mahalabasic was the main force behind Oldenburg’s success with 19 points and ten rebounds while Nathan Boothe followed with 16 and Rickey Paulding with ten points.

For Crailsheim, Maurice Stuckey banked 17 points in addition to Sebastian Herrera and Dejan Kovacevic’s 16 each.

Ratiopharm Ulm tops Group A with 3-0 followed by Bayern and Oldenburg with 2-1 while Gottingen is the last team entering the knockout phase with 1-2. Crailsheim lost all four of its games and will stay fifth.
