FC Bayern Munich and EWE Baskets Oldenburg battled it out on Sunday evening.

With the second place of Group A up for grabs. EWE Baskets Oldenburg powered through down the stretch to claim the 89-81 victory against FC Bayern Munich on Sunday evening.

Nathan Boothe poured a game-high 17 points. Former Bayern player, Robin Amaize contributed to the upset with 15 points of his own. Vladimir Lucic posted 16 points in losing effort.

The last Group A preliminary round contest of the final stage of Germany’s league saw the tournament hosts near a double-digit lead in the third period but had no response to the quick turnaround.

Previously facing off ratiopharm Ulm and BG Gottingen knew beforehand that they will rank first and fourth, respectively. Jaka Lakovic’s side threw itself to 4-0 prevailing, 89-66. Thomas Klepeisz posted a team-high 16 points.

All four Group A teams involved in Round 5 action await Monday’s Group B results for their quarterfinals two-game series assignment. Semifinals and finals will be contested through two games and aggregate scores as well.
