German Cup Final Four postponed after Alba’s COVID-19 cases

Alba Berlin has several team members, including players, that tested positive for coronavirus.

The 2020 German Cup Final Four that was planned to be played on November 1-2 in Munich has been postponed to a later date (unknown as of now) the league announced. The tournament won’t take place due to Alba Berlin having several players and other team members testing positive for coronavirus.

Alba submitted requests to BBL for the rescheduling of the games and the league complied in accordance with its regulations. Initially, Alba had its Cup game vs. Braunschweig canceled after its first coronavirus case but then more members tested positive and thus the whole team was placed in a quarantine that will be effective also during November 1 and 2 when the Top 4 tournament was to be held.

Apart from the German Cup games, Alba’s upcoming EuroLeague game vs. Baskonia has also been suspended and will be rescheduled for a later date.
