Bayern and ALBA tipped off their season in the German League with wins

The 2020-21 German easyCredit BBL league tipped off with a clash between Ludwigsburg and Gottingen as the former got a rather convincing win. Bayern and ALBA also grabbed their respective wins at the start.

MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg – BG Gottingen 100-73

Jaleen Smith was on fire with 24 points for the victors while Jordan Hulls added 20 and Elias Harris 13 points. Yorman Polas Bartolo also scored 13.

For Gottingen, Galen Robinson scored 12 in addition to Luke Nelson’s 11 and Marvin Omuwvie’s ten points.

s.Oliver Wurzburg – ratiopharm Ulm 77-90

Saturday’s opening round matchup featured 24-year old Andreas Obst hitting a game-high 25 points. Troy Caupain’s contribution amounted to 19 points.

On the other side, Mark Ogden got 19 points.

ALBA Berlin – Fraport Skyliners 79-66

Luke Sikma led the charge for Alba with 14 points while missing only one shot, Jayson Granger scored 13 and Ben Lammers 12 points.

Jon axel Gudmundsson scored 21 points on the other side while Rasheed Moore added 13.

Hamburg Towers – Brose Bamberg 78-75

Terry Allen scored 20 for Hamburg followed by Maik Kotsar with 14 and Kameron Taylor with 12 points.

For Brose, Dominic Lockhart had 20 and Devon Hall 13 points.

Basketball Braunschweig – EWE Oldenburg 83-111

Oldenburg put on an impressive display led by Martin Breuniig with 17 points. Rasid Mahalbasic had 14 while Nathan Boothe logged a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

On the other side, Karim Jallow scored 21 points while James Robinson and Gavin Schilling added 13 each.

Bayern Munich – RASTA Vechta 90-78

Nick Weiler-Babb led the charge with 21 points while Nihad Djedovic and JaJuan Johnson added 14 each. Jalen Reynolds had 13 points.

For Vechta, Will Vorhees scored 17 and Dennis Clifford 16 points.

HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim – NINERS Chemnitz 88-76

Tim Coleman led the way for the winning side with 18 points while Trae Bell-Haynes was right behind with 17 points.

For the away team, Jospeh Lawson scored 18 points of his own in addition to Marcus Thornton’s 14.
