Bayern and ALBA keep up their winning streak in Germany

The German League returned to action with four teams retaining their undefeated streaks after Gameday 5. ALBA Berlin grabbed a tough victory over Bayreth on the road, while Bayern strolled past Gottingen to expand to 4-0 this week.

Here’s all action from Day 5 summed up:

Bonn – EWE Baskets 92-97

The visitors grabbed their third victory in a row in the BBL led by Rickey Paulding and Nathan Boothe that had 19 and 18 points respectively.

Deividas Gailius posted a game-high with 25 points for the hosts, Stranhija Micovic had 14 points and James Thompson IV posted 13 points and 7 rebounds.

MHP Riesen – Crailsheim Merlins 97-88

MHP Riesen bounced back with a smashing win over Merlins, as Barry Brown Jr posted a 30-point performance for the hosts. Jaleen Smith and Elias Harris had 16 and 15 points each into this win.

Trae Bell-Haynes paced the visiting side with 24 points and 8 assists, as Maurice Stuckey had 14 points.

ratiopharm Ulm – RASTA Vechta 74 – 73

Andreas Obst and Aric Holman helped Ulm stay undefeated against Vechta, tapping 13 and 11 points respectively, while Dylan Osetowski had 10 points. Stefan Peno had a game-high with 16 points for the visitors and Jean Salumu followed with 15 points.

medi Bayreth – ALBA Berlin 69-71

ALBA stayed undefeated after a tough victory on the road, led by Niels Giffey who had 15 points and 5 rebounds. Luke Sikma added a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds along with 7 assists, and Johannes Thiemann added 14 points.

Frank Bartley was the leading scorer of the hosts with 17 points.

Chemnitz – Frankfurt 70-83

Matt Mobley’s 29-point performance sealed the victory for the Skyliners on the road, as they reached their first win of the season.

Terrell Harris had a team-high for the hosts with 21 points.

Syntainics MBC – Hamburg 80-85 

Hamburg stayed perfect on the road, as TJ Shorts tapped 17 points and Kameron Taylor added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Michal Michalak posted a game-high of 29 points for the hosts.

Bayern – Gottingen 90-72

Bayern cruised to victory with ease at home with their fourth straight victory this season. DJ Seeley had a team-high with 18 points, JaJuan Johnson finished the game with 15 points and Wade Baldwin tapped 13.

Abrey Dawkins paced Gottingen with 18 points.

Giessen 46ers – Brose Bamberg 99-106

Brose grabbed the victory in this scoring feast, paced by David Kravish who had a team-high of 25 points and 9 rebounds. Devon Hall followed with 20 points and Kenneth Ogbe posted 15.

On the other end, Jonathan Stark posted a game-high with 27 points and 5 assists.

s.Oliver Wurburg – Braunschweig 89-93 (OT)

It took an extra five-minute period but Braunschweig held on strong to grab the victory on the road. The winners had 3 players adding 14 points; Lukas Meisner, Karim Jallow and James Robinson, while on the other end of the court, Tyson Ward added a game-high with 21 points.
