A display of strength by ALBA Berlin over FC Bayern Munich

ALBA Berlin achieved its largest win over FC Bayern Munich with the 100-62 victory on the road Sunday.

Niels Giffey and Ben Lammers poured 15 points apiece sharing the team-high in the one-sided meeting of the two easyCredit BBL teams participating in the 2020-21 edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Maodo Lo and Jayson Granger added 12 points each. Peyton Siva and Louis Olinde were sidelined.

The guests outscoring Bayern, 29-9, in the second quarter blew the Regular Season Round 30 game wide open. ALBA kept pushing attaching the final margin of 38 points on its historic win. The previous biggest win was set at 26 points.

The home side missing Nick Weiller-Babb, Diego Flaccadori, Nihad Djedovic, and JaJuan Johnson was led by D.J. Seeley and is 16 points. Leon Radosevic had 13 points.

ALBA improved to 24-6 and trails only Ludwigsburg’s 27-2 in the German league standings. The losing side at 23-8 sits in third place. Oldenburg at 22-8 and Crailsheim at 21-9 follow fourth and fifth, respectively.
