Bayern lifted its third German Cup ever after taking down ALBA in the final

FC Bayern Munich outlasted ALBA Berlin 85-79 to lift its third German Cup in club history, after first winning it in the 2017-18 season. ALBA, which remains the most titled team in the German Cup with 10 trophies, couldn’t defend its title despite a comeback in the second half.

Paul Zipser led Andrea Trinchieri’s squad with 18 points on 4 out of 6 from the three-point line, Wade Baldwin had 13 points, while Leon Radosevic and DJ Seeley posted 12 and 11 points respectively for the winners.

Jayson Granger led the way for ALBA with 17 points and a key contribution to his team’s comeback even though it fell short in the end, and Marcus Eriksson posted 12 points.

It should be noted that Ulm’s protest after their defeat to Bayern in the Cup semifinal has been dismissed by the league. The protest concerned Baldwin, who remained on the court for a brief moment after fouling out in the fourth quarter of the game.
