Maodo Lo dropped nine out of his 11 points in the last 84 seconds as German League defending champion Alba Berlin beat Bayern Munich 89 – 86 in Game 1 of the Finals.

With the score tied at 80, Lo scored the go-ahead basket and then drained back-to-back 3-pointers to put Alba up 88 – 82. After a dunk by James Gist, Lo went 1-2 from the line which was enough to secure his team’s win.

Marcus Eriksson paced Alba overall with 23 points on 6-8 3-pointers while Simone Fontecchio had 18 points and six rebounds.

For Bayern, James Gist produced 19 points and five rebounds, DJ Seeley scored 14 and Wade Baldwin 13. The Bavarian side will look to tie the series Thursday (10/6) in Game 2 that also takes place in Berlin.
