Two completely different performances for the two major German powerhouses as their resumed their domestic league games.

Bayern Munich returned to wins in the German League in a powerful manner by crushing the Crailsheim Merlins 93 – 64 at home. Bayern improved to 19-6 and remains in pursuit of first-placed Telekom Baskets Bonn (20 – 7) while the Merlins fell to 12-10 remain ninth in the standings.

DeShaun Thomas and Nihad Djedovic led the charge for Bayern with 16 points apiece while Darrun Hilliard added 10 points. The Bavarian side completed the game with an impressive number of 29 assists (eight courtesy of Zan Sisko) while Andrea Trinchieri used all of his players and everyone scored.

Jon Axel Gudmundsson had 25 points and Jaren Lewis scored 14 for the Merlins.

Meanwhile in Chemnitz, the local Niners made short work of ALBA Berlin 81 – 64 behind 19 points by Isiaha Mike and 15 points plus six rebounds courtesy of Darion Atkins.

Oscar da Silva had 19 points plus nine rebounds and Jalen Smith dropped 14 points for ALBA that was coming off a big EuroLeague win over Crvena Zvezda.

The Niners are now 16 – 9 and sixth in the standings while ALBA stands fifth with a 16 – 6 record.
