After beating ratiopharm Ulm, 77-65, Friday, FC Bayern Munich rolled BG Gottingen, 87-64, on Sunday.

Andreas Obst stood out with 14 points in the easyCredit BBL Regular Season Round 33 fixture. DeShaun Thomas and Augustine Rubit added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The team coached by Andrea Trinchieri improved its domestic tally to 25-8 and retained hopes to cover the top seed in the German league’s Playoffs. Alba Berlin initially had the opportunity to clinch the first place on Sunday but Basketball Lowen Braunschweig confirmed multiple players testing positive for COVID-19 leading to the suspension of the game opposite the side guided by Israel Gonzalez.

On Tuesday, the teams from Munich and Berlin will collide in Audi Dome. To secure the home-court advantage throughout the Playoffs, Bayern must take down the fellow Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participant and also hope for an upset produced by Braunschweig, owned by Dennis Schroder.

In other action, Semaj Christon and Fedor Zugic shared a team-high 16 points, and Sindarius Thornwell added 15 points as Ulm overpowered JobStairs Giessen 46ers, 88-71, in a rescheduled Round 26 affair. The team coached by Jaka Lakovic currently ranks fifth but the 22-12 record will be enough for the fourth seed and home-court advantage in the first round of the Playoffs if Basketball Champions League Final Four outfit MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg drops the home game versus MLP Academics Heidelberg Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Brose Bamberg defeated the Hamburg Towers, 77-67, behind Justin Robinson’s 20 points in the pushed-back Round 22 game.

Sunday results:

ratiopharm Ulm – JobStairs Giessen 46ers 88-71
FC Bayern Munich – BG Gottingen 87-64
Brose Bamberg – Hamburg Towers 77-67
