ALBA Berlinemerged victorious from a thrilling fight against Bayern Munich.

Jaleen Smith scored 24 points including the go-ahead basket and Yovel Zoosman added 17 points as ALBA Berlin beat Bayern Munich 83 – 78 on the road in a battle between the two major German powerhouses.

The two teams were really close for the most part of the game that could easily go both ways and was decided in crunch time. Bayern went up 78 – 77 with two mintues remaining but that was the last Andrea Trinchieri’s players scored. Smith put ALBA head and after several misses by both teams, Zoosman made four free throws in the final seconds to secure ALBA’s win.

Andreas Obst (15 points) and Leon Radosevic (14 points) led Bayern in scoring. This result pushed ALBA to the first place in the standings (a 27 – 6 record) while Bayern dropped to 25 – 9 and the third spot.
