ALBA Berlin forced Bayern Munich to score just three points in the first eight minutes of the fourth period to get a 86 – 73 win in Game 1 of the best-of-five German League Finals series. The match was a 3-point festival with each team shooting 15-31 from beyond the arc.

Bayern was up 61 – 65 at the beginning of the final quarter but then ALBA scored 11 unanswered points and then made a 7-0 run to grab a 79 – 68 lead with 2:22 to play. There was no turning back from that margin and the hosts reached crunch time with a comfortable lead.

Yovel Zoosman scored 14 points and Maodo Lo added 13 points for an ALBA team that finished the match with 23 assists.  Andreas Obst (17 points) and Nick Weiler-Babb (10 points, six assists) stood out from Bayern.
