Alba Berlin secures eighth win in BBL after an incredible comeback

After defeating Bayreuth, Alba Berlin is again tied with Bayern Munich at the top of the standings

Alba Berlin defeated Medi Bayreuth in Round 9 of BBL 91-83, after a 24-0 run in the final period. They grabbed their eighth win, and improved to an 8-1 score, tying with Bayern Munich at the top of the standings.

Jaleen Smith led the winning team with 17 points, while Yovel Zoosman added 14 points with seven rebounds.

Tamir Blatt followed with 13 points, while Luke Sikma scored 12, and Yannick Wetzell 10 points.

Bayreuth fell to a 2-7 score, with Jackson Rowe scoring 19 points and seven rebounds. Ahmed Hill added 18 points, while Brandon Childress scored 15.

Alba was in trouble after the first couple of minutes, as the guests took a 13-6 lead in the early minutes. But the defending champions answered with a 10-0 run and got back the lead. They then took control and went to the first break with a seven-point advantage.

But Bayreuth wasn’t giving up. They got the lead back with an 11-2 run at the end of the second period and took a 49-40 lead before halftime.

They stayed in front until the final period, with six points surplus at the beginning of the last 10 minutes. Bayreuth then got a 15-point lead, and it seemed that Alba is done. But they showed character and made an incredible push. With a 24-0 run, they destroyed their opponents and finally won.
