A big shot by Brandon Paul lifted Ulm past Bonn in Game 1 of the German League Finals.

Ratiopharm Ulm defeated Telekom Baskets Bonn 73 – 79 on the road in Game 1 of the German League Finals. The winning side finished the match with a 0 – 6 run in the last minutes to go up 1-0 in the best-of-five series.

Yago dos Santos was everywhere on the floor for Ulm with 19 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Brandon Paul scored 18 points while hitting the go-ahead bucket from beyond the arc with 42 seconds remaining after a dish by dos Santos.

Basketball Champions League MVP TJ Shorts delivered 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Bonn. Jeremy Morgan added 15 points.

Bonn hosts Game 2 Sunday (11/6).
