Carsen Edwards scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds as Bayern Munich beat the Hakro Merlins 98 – 81 in a game for round 18 of the German League regular season.
Vladimir Lucic provided Bayern with 13 points and five assists while Sylvain Francisco had 11 points. Only Edwards and Lucic spent more than 20 minutes on the floor at 23:58 and 23:45 respectively as Bayern coach Pablo Laso made plenty of rotation ahead of the double-game week against Baskonia (30/1) and Olympiacos Piraeus (1/2) at home.
Leo Westermann stood out from Merlins with 21 points.
Thanks to a pair of free throws by Darius Perry with four seconds remaining, Wurzburg Baskets stunned ALBA Berlin 76 – 75 at home. Perry finished with nine points while Zachary Seljaas had 21 points plus nine rebounds and Otis Livingston scored 21 as well.
Sterling Brown produced 21 points plus five rebounds for ALBA, now 10 – 5. His team is traveling to Piraeus for the game vs. Olympiacos (30/1) and then will return home to host Valencia (1/2).
