Rasta Vechta pulled off a superb win on the road over Bayern.

Rasta Vechta came back from down 19 points and defeated Bayern Munich 90 – 88 in overtime to hand the powerhouse its first German League after 14 consecutive wins. This result dropped Bayern to second place in the standings

Bayern was up 62 – 43 early in the first half and went ahead 70 – 52 shortly before the end of the third period before Rasta Vechta turned the game around to lead 73 – 77 halfway through the fourth period. Vladimir Lucic sent the game to overtime, tying the score at 80 with 13 seconds to play.

Rasta Vechta took an 84 – 90 advantage in the extra period. Bayern approached and had a chance to force a second overtime but both Carsen Edwards and Lucic missed in the last seconds.

Chip Flanigan had 17 points for Vechta. Ryan Schwieger scored 15 points and dished out six assists while Joschka Ferner provided 15 points as well.

Carsen Edwards led Bayern with 18 points. Leandro Bolmaro contributed 15 points plus seven assists and Sylvain Francisco dropped 15 points.
