Once again disappointing in the lower zone of the EuroLeague standings, ALBA Berlin wants to take revenge domestically, claiming back the title they didn’t manage to win in the 2022-23 season.

They’re now one step closer to going back to victory, as Israel Gonzalez’s team managed to take out Telekom Baskets Bonn 3-0 in the Quarter-Finals, winning the decisive encounter 93-86 on the road.

Johannes Thiemann and Louis Olinde led the yellow-and-blue powerhouse by scoring 18 points each, while Matt Thomas followed them with 17 points. Sterling Brown added 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists

Telekom Baskets Bonn, which is now eliminated after coming off last year’s successful campaigns in the Basketball Champions League and in the Bundesliga, got carried by Thomas Kennedy, who ended his season with 22 points (9/11 from two-point range) and 6 rebounds.

Following this result, ALBA Berlin is the first team to qualify for the easyCredit Bundesliga Semi-Finals, where they will meet the winner of the series between Bayern Munich and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, who made it to the Playoffs through the Play-In. Such confront is currently tied at 1-1.
