ALBA Berlin secured a spot in the BBL Semifinals by defeating Vechta 96-89 in the fifth game of the Quarterfinal series on their home court.

This way, ALBA celebrated a 3-2 series win, having won the last two games, and will advance to the next round.

Jack Kayil was the top scorer for the home team with 20 points, Martin Hermannsson added 17 along with 10 assists, Justin Bean had 15, and Michael Rataj also scored in double figures with 11 points.

On the other side, Alonzo Verge scored 19 points for Vechta, same as TJ Bamba, and Tevin Brown had 14 points.

Except for the beginning of the game, when Vechta held a small lead, ALBA was in control throughout, even achieving a double-digit lead (40-27) midway through the second quarter.

The visitors managed to come back at the start of the final quarter, closing the gap to just four points (74-70), but ALBA responded with six consecutive points, repelling the surge and ultimately maintaining their lead and securing the victory.

In the Semifinals, second-seed ALBA will face third-seed Bamberg, who swept their series against Ulm 3-0.
