ALBA Berlin secured its place in the German Bundesliga Finals with a dominant 97-66 victory over Bamberg in the decisive Game 5 of their semifinal series.
After taking a 2-0 lead, ALBA saw Bamberg fight back with consecutive wins, including an 81-67 triumph in Game 4, to force a winner-take-all clash in Berlin. This time, however, there was no drama, as the hosts took control early and never looked back.
Michael Rataj led ALBA with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Justin Bean added 12 points. Moses Wood and Malte Delow scored 11 each, with Jack Kayil and Martin Hermannsson contributing 10 apiece.
For Bamberg, Ibi Watson was the only player in double figures with 16 points, while Cobe Williams, Ronaldo Balint and DeMarcus Demonia scored nine each.
With the victory, ALBA advances to the BBL Finals, where Bayern Munich awaits after eliminating Telekom Baskets Bonn in the other semifinal.
