One free throw by Anthony DiLeo with 16 seconds remaining “wrote” the final 92 – 93 at the boxscore, granting Bonn victory over Brose Bamberg for the 1 – 0 in the best-of-five quarterfinal series.

Josh Mayo had previously done great damage to the Bavarians’ defenses by scoring 25 points and dishing out 9 assists. Kenneth Horton posted a double-double of 17 points plus 11 rebounds and Julian Gamble had 15 for the winning squad.

Nicolo Melli‘s 21 points plus 10 rebounds or Janis Strelnieks’ 17 points and 5 assists weren’t enough for Bamberg that has now lost the home-court advantage in the series. The defending champs were missing Greek guard Nikos Zisis who was injured in the last game of the regular season.
