Brose Bamberg and Bayern Munich became the first two teams to advance in the German League semifinals for a series where they will face each other.

Brose Bamberg made the start by defeating Bonn 76  – 67 on the road and winning the quarterfinal series 3 – 1.

Nicolo Melli and Nikos Zisis dropped 15 points each for the visiting squad that controlled most aspects of the game during the second half.

J Gamble had 18 points plus 7 rebounds and Ryan Thompson 16 points along with 6 assists for Bonn.

Meanwhile in Berlin, Bayern Munich emerged victorious 87 – 72 against Alba to also qualify after 3 – 1.

The duo of Vladimir Lucic and Nihad Djedovic combined with 38 points, notching 19 each while Tony Gaffney and Gerald Robinson scored 14 apiece for the “Albatrosses”.

Brose Bamberg and Bayern Munich will now meet in the semifinals with the defending champs owning home-court advantage.
