Alba Berlin couldn’t wish for a better start of German BundesLeague Playoffs as they easily beat EWE Baskets Oldenburg 114-88 in Game 1 of the series.

It was all settled in the first half. Alba put on an offensive show to score 69 points in twenty minutes leaving their opponent behind by a 26 point margin (69-43). The game was completely in their hands, they controlled the paint, had better ball movement and were effective from every spot on the floor. Oldenburg put up a better fight in the second half but only managed to keep the margin from increasing even more.

What seemed even more important is that every player contributed to Alba’s offensive effectiveness as they split the tasks evenly. Six players scored in double-digits and the most effective were Peyton Siva, Niels Giffey and Luke Sikma with 14 points each. On the other side, Frantz Massenat scored a game-high 20 points while Mickey McConnell helped with 15.

Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday 8th of May as Oldenburg will try to recover in front of their own crowd.
