Wright led Bamberg to a comeback win against Bonn

A big comeback by Brose Bamberg on the road lifted them up to a 2-0 in quarter-finals series against Bonn.

Dorell Wright’s performance propelled Brose Bamberg to the 90-82 win against Telekom Baskets Bonn in Game 2 of the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga quarter-finals.

The American forward had a double-double with a game-high 21 points and 10 boards. Augustine Rubit followed him with 18 points while Lucca Staiger hit four triples to add 12 points.

With this win, Bamberg takes a 2-0 lead and Game 3 will be played in Bamberg on Saturday. Midway through the third quarter, the hosts were leading by 15 (63-48) and it looked like they will win this game easily. However, never estimated the heart of the champion as Bamberg found the way for a comeback. With a 5-0 run at the start of the last quarter, Bamberg cut it to two (70-68).

Bamberg won the fourth quarter by 15 points (27-12) completing the comeback and taking a win on the road. Julian Gamble’s all-around performance couldn’t save Bonn tonight. He had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Earlier, Fraport Skyliners beat Bayern Munich at home 75-69 tying the series up to a 1-1. The hosts played excellent defense and with a 10-0 run down the last stretch, they decided the game. Philipp Scrubb received the award for being regular season’s “Best Offensive Player” before the game. He proved his offensive skills once again as led Skyliners with 15 points tonight.

Dejan Radonjic’s team was struggling to find an offensive rhythm and Jared Cunningham’s 14 points couldn’t get them going.
