On the back of a powerful fourth-quarter output, Bayern Munich defeated Rasta Vechta 89 – 71 and took a 2-0 lead in the German League semifinal series.
It was a team effort for Bayern en route to the win. Nihad Djedovic scored 12 points, Maodo Lo 11 and Petteri Koponen 10. Four of their teammates had eight points apiece.
For Vechta, T.J. Bray finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Josh Young dropped 12 points while Hinrichs had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
Bayern dominated the last period 13 – 25 to get the desired result. Vechta had stayed competitive until the end of the third quarter but couldn’t keep up with its opponents in the final stretch.
Game 3 takes place at Bayern Saturday (8/6). The Munich side can qualify to the Finals with a win.
