The meetings of Greek and Turkish powerhouses highlight the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 2 schedule

By Stathis Trapezanlidis/ info@eurohoops.net

Teams not fully ready mainly due to the coronavirus impact create additional betting risks as we look into the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 2 split between Thursday and Friday.

Our betting path so far is balanced. Avoiding sudden changes is a bonus because we are going through a rough patch with various teams still making adjustments and dropping relatively easy games.

Skipping bets altogether can provide a winning betting feeling. In the betting world, it’s not only about the bets placed but bets avoided as well. Readers not closely following teams may miss out if we don’t explain skipped bets. A prime example of this comes from last weekend and steering clear of Valencia, TD Systems Baskonia, and LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, three EuroLeague clubs losing matches they would have prevailed in eight out of ten occasions.

Panathinaikos OPAP – Olympiacos U 156 / 1.71

The Greek derby will be held behind closed doors due to COVID-19 restrictions. Both sides are currently far from the best possible condition. I consider the under here a solid option. We picked it up early. The line has since dropped from 155 to 152 points.

Meetings between arch-rivals can go either way. The 2.10 value on the Reds winning seems attractive, but we can do without it. Last week outings affected the betting scale, but betting pregame on Panathinaikos or Olympiacos winning settled for second behind the under.

Anadolu EfesFenerbahce Beko U 161 / 1.74

The Turkish derby will not feature Shane Larkin, which brings more value on the 2.40 tabbed to a Fenerbahce Beko win over Anadolu Efes. Similar to the Greek derby, I will instead bet on the under regarding the total points scored.

Efes is still struggling offensively and without Larkin, especially opposite to solid defensive sides, encounters additional issues. Fener holds such a defensive mentality. Counting in the normally tight nature of these matchups, I expect the two teams to once again produce a low-scoring affair.
