This week’s betting picks need extra attention since most teams are still not ready. One can easily realize that by looking at their results in domestic leagues. Andorra handed Barcelona its first defeat while CSKA has already lost two games in VTB League by teams that aren’t of the same quality as the “Army Men.” Both teams are looking to establish some chemistry and for their players to find their roles.
Olympiacos – Valencia U 159.5 / 1.71
The coaching change on Olympiacos may hurt our betting pick but I believe that both teams will play good defense. Olympiacos has the experience to understand that it will win this game through its defense since the team still is very bad and random. On the other hand, Valencia is by its nature a defensive team. It’s through the defense that the team has achieved so many things this last decade, along with the good chemistry of its basic core.
Olimpia Milano – Zalgiris Kaunas 2 (+10.5)
Neither team is ready yet but Zalgiris is one step ahead in that area since it has the same basic core plus the same coach, thus the same philosophy. We picked Milano last week against Bayern but the Italian team was disappointing, particularly down the stretch. We have picked the “2” for Zalgiris at 1.47 (10.5 handicap) which, together with a Fenerbahce Beko win at Belgrade, makes a duo that can double our money. You can also play Zalgiris +6.5 at 1.90 while I’m looking a bit at a possible bet at Zalgiris’ win (without handicap) at 3.30. A really satisfactory yield.
Crvena Zvezda – Fenerbahce Beko 2
Fenerbahce will beat the competitive Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade, easily or not. Zeljko Obradovic‘s team may not be 100% ready but remains superior to the Serbian side. The defeat to Real Madrid shall give Fener an extra focus and attention needed to win this kind of game. EuroLeague hides many traps but I think Fener won’t fall into one in Serbia. In any case, this is a match that may be worth checking out regarding live betting.
There are a couple of more choices but not as certain ones as the ones we have picked and analyzed above. One of them is Panathinaikos getting the win over ASVEL in France. The “Greens” will be aware of the difficulty of the game, especially after the Round 1 loss of their archrival Olympiacos in Astroballe.
