It was a night of celebration in Peace and Friendship Stadium. For the first time this season Olympiacos‘s gym was packed and everybody wanted to enjoy Euroleague basketball and of course a win of the Reds.

Ivkovic’s boys did their duty and devastated Siena (75-55). Olympiacos is leading the play offs series 2-1, nothing is finished yet, but everybody will remember the game and specially “the dunk”.

Five minutes to the end of the game, when everything was already decided, Acie Law passed the ball to Kostas Papanikolaou who was already running the lane. For a moment everybody hold his breath, the young forward elevated and finished the fast break with a thunderous reverse dunk.

The mighty roar from the crowd can be compared only to that of a young lion. The relationship between the fans of Piraeus and the basketball team of Olympiacos had many ups and downs the last decade, mainly due to the failures in the Greek league against Panathinaikos.

But this dunk was the perfect exclamation point for the progress that this young Olympiacos team has made and the perfect excuse for the fans to renew their love for basketball. After the end of the game, the ticket booths opened just before midnight, because everybody wanted a ticket for Game 4 and the best is yet to come at the port of Piraeus.
