He was the player that finally led Olympiacos in the top of Europe for the first time since 1997 and now he will try to be the man who will lead the charge for the “Three-peat”. Vasilis Spanoulis’ first meeting with the owners of Olympiacos, Giorgos and Panagiotis Aggelopoulos, it was all that was needed.

The Reds offered him a three years deal for two million euros per season, excluding taxes, and that number proved to be enough for him, despite the offers that Barcelona and CSKA Moscow were ready to make him. Despite all the rumors about his destination, Spanoulis decided to not talk with any other team before having a face to face meeting with Aggelopoulos brothers and finally that made all the difference.

As the player himself said after the meeting: “We had a very good talk, we haven’t finalized every detail yet, but I believe that things are going in the right direction”.
