In the first game of the Gloria Cup, Olympiacos beat 79-73 Efes Anadolu in the first battle against Dusan Ivkovic and Stratos Perperoglou since their departure from Piraeus.

The Reds had Matt Lojeski (20p., 6 reb.) in a great night. The American is left all alone in the small forward position after Darden’s and Papapetrou’s injuries. Spanoulis was also very good having 14 points and 7 assists. On the other hand, the best players of Efes were the two local talents, Osman (17 p.) and Korkmaz(13 p.).

In the second game of the game CSKA got the close win against Crvena Zvezda 77-72. The Serbs surprised CSKA at the start of the game, however the Russians, led by Milos Teodosic and Markoisvili, got a double digits lead in the third quarter (59-49). Zvezda reacted (69-67), but Marcus Williams and Charles Jenkins lost some important shots in the end of the game and the chance to complete a great come back. Markoisvili was the first scorer for the winners with 19 points, while Teodosic added 13. For Red Star, Marcus Williams scored 15 points and Marianovic added 12.
