Matt Lojeski signed an extension of his contract until the summer of 2017 with Olympiacos. The American forward with a Belgian passport played excellent since the summer of 2013 when he arrived to the team and the Reds decided to offer him an extension for two more years.

His first contract was a two year deal and Olympiacos knew that if Lojeski became a free agent next summer, he would have many offers in his hands. During the last summer, CSKA wanted him and was ready to buy out his contract, but Olympiacos denied. The board of the Greek team decided to raise his salary, offering him a new contract until the summer of 2017. The deal is closed for the first two years and includes a team option only in the summer of 2016.

This is only the fourth time that Olympiacos extends a contract during the last ten years without waiting for a player to be a free agent after Zizic, Printezis and Mantzaris and the first time that this happens during the season after the case of the Croatian center.
