Milan’s record during the five years (1950-54) was haunted for half a century buτ Siena wanted to reach it since the first years of their dynasty. Montepaschi won the Italian championship in the season 2006-07, first of Simone Pianigiani in their bench, and after the win (84-73) over EA7 Milano in Game 5 of the Italian finals, reached a historical high.

Siena became the first team to win six consecutive championships, but its future is highly uncertain. Simone Pianigiani seems to have already passed the exit door with Fenerbahce being the favorite to sign him. After the championship, the Italian coach said “I don’t know yet if I will stay. These six years seemed like… 20”. The same thoughts have also the MVP of the finals, Bo McCalebb and Nikos Zisis who are expected to leave from Siena.

On Sunday’s game Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavirnovic was the top scorer with 22 points, McCalebb had 16 and Zisis 15. The top scorer of Milan was Greek center Yiannis Bourousis with 18 points.
