For the past few days there were more than many rumors in Turkey about the possibility of Nick Calathes signing with Fenerbahce/ Ulker in the next month, before the start of Euroleague’s Top16. However, Calathes is not eager to return to Europe, despite being a future free agent.
As he said from Houston to Greek television station OTE TV in a specific question about a possible summer return for Panathinaikos, leaving the NBA is not something that he would like: “This is not something that I think about. I am focused in my team and I hope to succeed and get minutes. It’s obvious that I want to play here, I want to be here, so this is not something on the back of my mind”.
According to Eurohoops sources, Memphis doesn’t want to part ways with Calathes during the season and of course the team hasn’t decided yet anything about its summer plans. So, for sure Calathes will stay at the NBA, at least till the end of season. Fenerbahce is considering the possibility of an addition but it’s not as simple as it looks and this is the reason that till now the club haven’t talked to any agent or player.
