Sofoklis Shortsanitis returns to Greece after two season in Tel Aviv and he will play for his old rival, Panathinaikos, while EA7 Milano is building a Euroleague final four caliber team after the renewal of Malik Hairston contract

On Tuesday EA7 Milan retained Malik Hairston on its roster and the team of Sergio Scariolo is shaping to be once again a Euroleague contender. It was a big win for the Italians, since Hairston was linked almost to every elite Euroleague team, CSKA Moscow included. However, just hours latter there is just one big name dominating the news.

Sofoklis Shortsanitis is officially a Panathinaikos player for the next three seasons and he will make a dangerous leap from Red to Green. There have been others players of Olympiacos who played for Panathinaikos before him, or the opposite. However, Sofo was a fan favorite when he was playing at Piraeus and a target of severe verbal abuse from the Greens, but times have changed.

On the contrary, the plan for the front line of Panathinaikos haven’t changed after the signing of Shortsanitis and there’s still room for Mavroeidis, Vougioukas and Mike Batiste.
