NBA and FIBA will organize the first-ever Basketball without Borders (BWB) Global Camp during the All Star weekend in New York. The camp will be held at Baruch College in Manhattan and in total 39 campers from 23 countries will travel to the States.
However no players from Greece and Turkey will be present, despite the fact that two players of Panathinaikos had the honor to be invited. Vasilis Charalampopoulos and Giorgos Papagiannis were the chosen ones, however the Greek club decided that since they are members of the first team, it would be better for them to continue training with men and playing official games. Croatian Dragan Bender (photo) who has signed with Maccabi is the marquee name of the camp and here’s what he had to say to Eurohoops about him being compared with Tony Kukoc.
