Greek forward Michalis Tsairelis is going to be the new addition in Olympiacos roster until the end of the season with an option for the upcoming 2015-16 season, if Iberostar Tenerife lets him return to Greece. The player has in his contract with the Spanish club a renewal option for next season, which is not yet used. The decision of Tenerife is expected after Sunday’s game against Obradoiro.

The Reds were in the market for a long time and finally they decided to sign Tsairelis in order to have the right to use him also in the Greek league with any changes in their roster. Because of the limit of six non Greek players in their domestic games, if a foreigner was adeed, then the Reds would have to decide to leave one of their players out of the Greek league and use him only in Euroleague.

Derrick Brown of Lokomotiv Kuban  is one of the players who were among the main targets of Olympiacos. However the Russian club wants to be paid a hefty buy out in order to let him go, despite the fact that Brown is going to be a free agent in the summer.

UPDATE: According to Eurohoops sources Tenerife agreed to let the player sign with Olympiacos after Sunday’s win over Obradoiro (15/2) and Michalis Tsairelis will arrive on Tuesday to Athens.
