Nizhny Novgorod needed a boost in the back court, specially with Tarense Kinsey out of action and the player who will help the Euroleague Cinderella to achieve its goals is Gal Mekel. After contacts which an other Russian club, Unics Kazan – which were denied in the process – the Israeli guarded leaves the States and returns to Europe.
Mekel was waiting for an other NBA chance since he was traded from Dallas and cut from New Orleans, Hapoel Jerusalem was also waiting for him with open arms and also EA7 Milano was interested on his case. However, Nizhny got his signing and Mekel will finally make his Euroleague debut. His contract ends at the summer of 2016, but includes an NBA out for the summer of 2015.
