Under his guidance Lokomotiv Kuban won Eurocup in 2013 and this season reached Euroleague’s Top16. However, the tenure of coach Evgeni Pashutin in the team may end in the summer and in this case, one of the favorites to replace him is Lithuanian coach Jonas Kazlauskas.

Coach Kazlauskas is highly regarded among the management of the team, which includes fellow Lithuanian Ginas Rutkauskas as a vice president. Kazlauskas, a Euroleague champion as Zalgiris coach back in 1999, seems ready to return to Europe after two season in China as the head coach of Guangdong Tigers and also as the CBA champion of 2013.
