Behind 27 points by Charlon Kloof and with Italian coach Maurizio Buscaglia on the bench, the Netherlands started their Eurobasket 2021 qualifiers on Friday with a bang, getting the road win against Turkey.
The host team had three EuroLeague players available (Melih Mahmutoglu, Dogus Balbay, Tolga Gecim) but they couldn’t save the day. Belgium also prevailed over a big-name opponent by beating Lithuania by 21 points (86-65) despite the presence of Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Donatas Motiejunas on the roster of the guests.
Meanwhile, Germany got a big home win over France (83-69).
