Reducing the coronavirus risk comes with further changes for the national teams

The next batch of 2022 EuroBasket qualifiers to be held in a single venue per group will be paired with another adjustment, the national teams gathering directly at the designated city a few days prior to the games, according to MozzartSport.

National teams competing in bubbles came as a measure aiming to prevent a coronavirus spread during the November-December window. Players directly at venues assigned for the EuroBasket qualifiers will lessen the health risks of additional trips.

The report regarding international contests planned to take place in late November and early December notes that the Serbian national team members will be prevented from holding an official practice in Belgrade before the trip to Espoo, Finland.

The restriction mainly impacts players competing abroad as they will not travel back to their country. They will instead meet their teammates at the site assigned for the upcoming FIBA window.
