The EuroBasket Qualifiers Group B Round 3 game featuring Italy and North Macedonia will not be held as originally scheduled today, Saturday. The contest was postponed due to three positive coronavirus cases confirmed for North Macedonia, FIBA announced.

Per the press release: “Following the Covid-19 Protocol for FIBA Official National Team and Club Competitions and the advice of its Medical Commission, FIBA has decided to postpone the game Italy vs North Macedonia, for the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Qualifiers due to take place today in Tallinn, Estonia,

The decision was taken after three members of the North Macedonia delegation tested positive to COVID-19, with the health and safety of players, coaches and officials being the primary consideration. The rest of the delegation has been placed in isolation.

Additional testing on the North Macedonian Team Delegation will be performed for further medical evaluation and decisions, including a possible rescheduling of the game during this November window.

FIBA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and communicate any further updates regarding its competitions if necessary.”

North Macedonia down 0-2 is also scheduled to face Estonia Monday at Tallinn. Russia will go against the bubble hosts today and Italy Monday.
