Oded Kattash expected to depart from Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and join Panathinaikos OPAP will remain head coach of the Israel national team, per official announcement Monday.

Kattash, 46, inked a four-year contract in 2017 to be named head coach of the national team. He will continue in the approaching FIBA window including the remaining Group A affairs versus Romania and Spain in Poland. His intention is to guide both the national team of his country and his expected new team at the club level.

Israel packing a 4-0 tally has already clinched its spot in the final stage of the 2022 EuroBasket. However, it remains unclear if Kattash will retain his current position past the qualifiers.

His presence on the bench of the Israeli national team during the February window was unexpected. It means that Kattash will miss two EuroLeague games in February with Panathinaikos, against Zenit St. Petersburg (17/2) and CSKA Moscow (19/2).
