Amedeo Tessitori led the way as Italy stayed undefeated in the EuroBasket Qualifiers despite a strong push by North Macedonia

The last window of the EuroBasket 2022 Qualifiers tipped off with Italy logging a 92-84 win against North Macedonia at the Molot Sports Hall in Perm, Russia.

Amedeo Tessitori led the way for the Italian squad with 18 points on 8-11 shooting while Marco Spissu scored 13 and also dished nine assists. Giampaolo Ricci added 11.

Nenad Dimitrijevikj banked in game-high 24 points followed by Jacob Wiley with 17 and Vojdan Stojanovski with 15 points.

Despite putting on a valiant effort and having an early 34-27 advantage, the North Macedonian team stayed winless with 3 losses while Italy, which had already qualified beforehand for the EuroBasket, continued its perfect run (4-0) in Group B.

Meanwhile, Slovenia had everything under control throughout all forty minutes and improved to 4-1 in group F, led by Jaka Blazic who netted 24 points in the 84-72 win over Hungary. Luka Rupnik logged 13 along with seven assists while Gregor Hrovat added 12 points.

On the opposing team, Zoltan Perl scored 16 in addition to Benedek Varadi’s 15 and David Vojvoda’s 13 points. It was the first loss for Hungary which now holds a 2-1 record.
