France was unstoppable in the first and last quarter and claimed an easy victory against Israel 61-86  to earn the first place on Group A, while the Israeli team finished second.

Vincent Collet, head coach of France, said: “The key is consistency and aggression. That’s been missing in a couple of games here. We’ve been up and down too much.”

France had many players in good form and had no problems during the game, while Israel will try to make the big surprise and qualify to the top 8.

Erez Edelshtein, Israel’s head coach, was delighted afterwards: “I’m very happy. This is what our expectations were, to play in the next round. We’ve played the kind of basketball we wanted, aggressive on defence, moving the ball. Italy will be tough. But, we will be ready.”

The French took a 12-point advantage in the first quarter and never looked back. They retained the lead to double digits throughout the entire game and they outscored their opponents 13-24 in the last quarter to win by 25 at the end.
