Vassilis Spanoulis announced his retirement from the Greek national team. “Kill-Bill” said after the qualification to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament that he will not play again for Greece.

“I am retiring from the national team. All those years, we offered so many things. Some times we were successful, other times we failed. I started playing for the national team since I was 17 years old. This is life. It’s time for me to stop, it’s the right time for me to retire in order for the younger players to step forward. There is no need to say many things. I am proud of having played for Greece. There is no disappointment. We achieved our minimum goal, namely to qualify to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.”
