Giannis Antetokounmpo returned to practice, as the Greek basketball federation announced, one day after the news about his latest exams. Antetokounmpo was ruled out of the last prep game of the Greek national team with back soreness but the MRI come back clean.

On the contrary, George Papagiannis and Ioannis Papapetrou are still practicing individually and at this point, it’s certain that they will miss at least the first game for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers against Serbia.

It has to be noted however that the schedule of Sunday’s practice included tactical drills with no contact.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ultimately played in two out of five prep games with the Greek national team. He produced 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest.

The Greek national team will fly to Belgrade on the 24th of September, one day before the game, and that’s when it’s expected an official decision on the roster that will be available.

The final Eurobasket roster can be different compared to the roster used in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers since those games are not related and have to do with totally different tournaments. The final roster of each national team can be submitted one day before the start of each tournament.
